Early Learning & Pre-K

Laying the Foundation for Lifelong Learning

Helping Every Child Thrive from the Start

The earliest years of education set the stage for everything that follows. High-quality early learning and Pre-K programs don’t just prepare children for kindergarten—they build the cognitive, social, and emotional skills that influence lifelong success. Yet schools and programs often face significant challenges: inconsistent instructional practices, limited alignment to early learning standards, and the need for ongoing professional development for teachers and paraprofessionals.

INcompassing Education partners with early learning programs, schools, and districts to strengthen instructional quality, classroom environments, and developmentally appropriate practices. Our specialists understand that when early educators are well-supported, children thrive.

Case Study

Western Boone Schools — Curriculum Mapping for Reading Achievement

When Western Boone School Corporation set out to strengthen literacy instruction and ensure alignment with the Science of Reading, they partnered with INcompassing Education to lead a districtwide Curriculum Mapping initiative.

The Challenge

The district had recently adopted new reading materials and wanted to ensure that implementation reflected best practices in reading science and was coherent across grade levels. Leadership sought a process that would connect Tier 1 instruction to standards, ILEARN checkpoints, and HQCM guidance—without overwhelming teachers.

The INcompassing Education Approach

Over six days of collaboration, INcompassing Education specialists worked with leadership and teacher teams to align instruction, pacing, and assessment practices.

  • Leadership Team Days focused on setting direction, understanding the science of reading, and customizing templates for the district.

  • Teacher Team Days engaged educators in exploring streamlined standards, vertically articulating essential skills, and mapping units with buffer weeks and pacing built around assessment checkpoints.

  • Follow-Up Leadership Support sessions ensured implementation was on track and that data-driven adjustments could be made throughout the year.

The Outcome

Western Boone emerged with clear, actionable curriculum maps that connected standards, resources, and assessments. Teachers gained a shared understanding of expectations and pacing, while leaders established a system for monitoring progress and providing targeted support. The result: improved instructional coherence, increased teacher confidence, and a stronger foundation for student achievement.

Why It Matters

Early learning is where equity begins. When children receive consistent, intentional instruction in the foundational years, they develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in school and beyond.

  • Strong early learning programs reduce achievement gaps before they start.

  • Teachers who understand child development foster environments where every student can grow.

  • Families gain trust in schools that value the whole child.

INcompassing Education helps schools build early learning programs that spark curiosity, nurture growth, and create a lifelong love of learning.
